This is a Pewter panel of an Arts and crafts design inspired by Rennie Macintosh, but made by Linda Kerr of ScotlandThis panel has been individually hand pulled from the artists plate on to pewter foil and patinated to give the final effect. The panel is titled “Glasgow Rose” and has the saying “Love is the flower, Life is the Green leaf” impressed in to the border at the bottom. Although Rennie Macintosh was thought to be the originator it is clear that there were many others working in this very distinctive style. This group of artist include Margaret Macdonald, Talwin Morris, Marion Henderson Wilson and Agnes Banksier Harvey It has a light cream mount and is framed in a wood frame with a silver and gold effect finish. The label on the back of the frame says this is one of ten pewter panels which echo the spirit of what is now called “Glasgow Style”, circa 1900.
