Arts & Crafts PORTER BLANCHARD Hammered Sterling Tray This listing is for a very rare Porter Blanchard sterling serving tray. It was made in the early 1900's most likely during the Arts & Crafts period. Porter Blanchard hollowware pieces almost never come up for sale, so to have a tray of this size available is something special. It has a lovely light hammered design which is hard to see unless you hold it at an angle to the light(4th picture tries to show this w the hammering is most noticeable on the edge). It is in excellent condition with no monogram, dings or dents. We have not polished this piece and yet t is very little tarnish. The top surface does have a number of minor scratches a few of which can be felt with your finger. We are sure these could be buffed out if the new owner so chooses. This large serving tray measures approx. 21 3/4" by 14 3/4" and weighs an amazing 72.8 troy ounces(thats almost 5 pounds). It is marked on the back with the Porter Blanchard hand-made mark(see pic).
