I purchased this incredible Yellow ware jug at a local estate sale in Los Angeles. The home owner had a vast collection of items including navy ware, fiesta ware and red ware. This jug has been kept in excellent condition. I am not a professional appraiser or expert in yellow ware, but this piece does look like it is excellent condition and does not appear to have any scratches or marks that were not part of the original process. I believe this piece is from the Arts & Crafts period given the origins of yellow ware and the nature-inspired pattern. It is not signed but is embossed with a "21" which I have photographed. The Jug measures almost 8 inches from the tip of the jug to the end of the handle and is approximately 7 1/2 inches tall. The paint is black but depending on the lighting it changes to deep blue or green. The interior is the fabulous mustard and salt and pepper color.
