1) Unframed commission dated 21 July 1803 of Richard Vining as Captain of a company in the 3rd Regiment of the 1st Brigade of the 5th Division of the Militia, and signed by Caleb Strong, Governor. 20th century repair and notes on the left edge. 2) An account book. 3) Small note honoring Havel for being at the top of his class in 1803. 4) Resignation document for Richard King dated 1808. 5) Two-page document from the Commonwealth in the House of Representatives, dated November 27, 1780 with a resolve prescribing the form of enlistment for those men belonging to the Commonwealth, who shall enlist into the service of the United States, to continue in the service until the end of the present war with Britain. Unsigned. Opposite side lists members of the militia. The second page is connected to the schedule, consisting of three or more blank forms dealing with the militia. 6) Unsigned document in pursuance of the vote of the town, passed the ninth of December 1780 borrowed and received of Elisha Avery the sum of five pounds ten shillings ... to enable the town to comply with the Requisition ... to procure for the Army. 7) ADS from Stoughton, MA, May 30, 1778 addressed to Col. Samuel Pierce of Dorchester, MA from Lt. Col. B. Jill: I have just received Brg. General Lovett to make a return of the men that were ordered to be raised for the North River for the men are wanted immediately therefore I shall expect a return from you of the men that were to be raised in Dorchester for that purchase without any loss of time, for I shall be very much blamed because they were not raised sooner. Folio sheet folded as a letter. Some loss at one edge. Toning. 8) Pamphlet of Old Time Blue Laws, Battle of Bunker Hill. As is. 9) Pamphlet of Washington and his Generals. As is. 10) Abstract of Lt. Col. Samuel Pierce, 1778, listing the types of officers and men and details relative to their service. Folded, toned and stained.
