I bought this at a train meet 20 years ago because it is a beautiful train. I don't run HO, so it hasn't been run. The engines seem unused, I touched the wheels to a DC transformer and they ran strong and smooth, but I have never had it on a track. The cars may have been used, because all of the packing is not there. Unfortunitaly I dropped the post office car and cracked the truck( I glued it back together), parts dealer should have a truck. One of the windows on this same car is cloudy. Also on the coach, there are two areas of flaking paint that could be touched up. The lettering is not involved. See in last several photos with pointer..All and all the paint and lettering is bright, clean, and eye catching to see the engines and cars as a matching unit--a model of the Southern Pacific Daylight This set includes the A&B units and 6 passenger cars..a baggage car, post office car, diner car, coach, vistadome, and an observation car. The boxes for the A&B units are numbered 3135 and 3035. The graphic on the engine is numbered 6054. The parts list included says revised in 1984 giving a rough date of manufacture. See pictures to appreciate the impact of this train with the engines matched to the cars when railroads had pride in their flag ship passenger service.
