AUCTIONOPEN TO MAINLAND UK BIDDERS ONLY – NO OVERSEAS POST I am offering here for auction five Atlas Editions French series of Dinky Toys replica models, all of which are duplicates from my collection. Each of the very authentic replica vehicles come in an Atlas Dinky Toys replica box and one of the models still benefits from having its protective cellophane outer wrap in place. There are no certificates, information booklets or any other kind of paperwork with these models. The models themselves are all in excellent condition however the boxes for the 191 and 25U models leave a lot to be desired as they are quite badly affected by creasing. The Atlas French Dinky 530 Citroen DS19 is a recent release in France, the first model in a new series of Dinky models which all feature opening parts. This model looks stunning with its dark red paintwork and cream roof and the opening parts on this model are the bonnet and the boot (they have never been opened and the clear plastic retaining strips are still in place). The attractive pictorial box is in very good condition. The model sits on a clear plastic tray inside the box and has a tissue wrap, there is no cellophane wrapping to the box. The second model offered here is an earlier version of the French Atlas Dinky Toy model the 24CP Citroen DS19 with green paintwork, white roof and silver trim. Now before you dismiss this model as one that you already have - it might be worth checking your model . There are quite a lot of these Citroen models over here in the UK as it is one of the first French Dinky Toys that Atlas recreated and the vast majority of the ones I have come across have a plain dashboard casting. If you look closely at photographs 5 and 9 the model on offer here utilises a different casting which incorporates the small Citroen chevron logo towards the centre of the upper part of the dashboard. The model has green paintwork with a white roof and is fitted with white tyres and is in excellent condition. The model does not sit on a plastic tray within the box, simply having a tissue wrap. The box is in very good condition with just a crease across one end flap and a small nick to the edge of the other flap. T he French Atlas Dinky Toy model 25U Ford 'ESSO' Tanker has red paintwork with silver trim and has the winged 'Esso' signs to both sides of the tank and the oval shaped 'Esso' logo to the rear. The model itself is in excellent condition and comes with a tissue wrap inside the box. The box for this model does have quite a bit of ceasing with all four faces of the box affected to a greater or lesser extent, the most severe creasing being to the lower left hand side of one of the pictorial panels and to the lower part of the other pictorial panel, particularly towards the lower right hand edge. The base panel of the box is also badly creased, particularly the area extending from the right hand end approximately one inch in, and this creasing has also gone through to affect the tuck in lip of the adjacent end flap. The box does not have a cello wrap, nor does the model sit on a plastic tray. T he French Atlas Dinky Toy model 191 Dodge Royal Sedan has cream paintwork with a pale blue stripe, silver trim, and is fitted with white tyes. The model itself is in excellent condition and comes with a tissue wrap inside the box. The box for this model does have a considerable amount of ceasing, more severe even than the 25U box, with all four faces of the box affected to a greater or lesser extent. The most severe creasing being to one of the pictorial panels (seen in photo12) and in the photograph the combination of the artwork and the lighting may mask to a certain extent just how bad the creasing is on this particular side. For instance the most prominent crease on this panel extends from the top left hand corner, through the 'D' of Dinky at a 45 degree angle to the bottom of the letter 'K' it then meanders down (becoming particularly pronounced) terminating somewhere around the centre of the front wheel hub in the picture, with to the left of this anothe... read more
