“We began to wonder, we began to talk about what he’d said. We thought maybe he had kept his word. That perhaps he had stopped the motor of the world.” This is the third of thirteen sets of three 20th Century Motor Corporation patches which were used during the filming of the movie “Atlas Shrugged: Who is John Galt?” You’ll find them in the opening scene of the movie where all of the 20th Century Motor Corporation workers have been called together to discuss the future of the plant. During this meeting, new owner Gerald Starnes announces that they will now work “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.” While everyone else accepts this plan, John Galt (played by Kris Polaha) does not. He declares he will put an end to this by stopping the motor of the world… and then he disappears. The 20th Century Motor Corporation has long been shuttered and abandoned.
