Hello fellow Ebayers! Here is another magnificently weathered locomotive by Weathered Works #122,,, Up for bid is 1 Brand New 2 Rail O Scale Atlas QSI Sound Soo Line EMD SD40 Locomotive #748 still being used within the CP Rail network. Here is a Locomotive that has never been duplicated, the EMD SD40, probably one of the most popular, most manufactured locomotive ever produced! This is the maroon scheme that Soo Line did years ago. I gave this one the usual grunge, as it would have been seen for grain and coal service. This Locomotive was disassembled, then it was completely faded, rusted & weathered, the stock coupler mounts are flimsy so they were strengthened and improved, the coupler mounts were moved inward for close coupling and a more prototypical look, the huge pilot hole was boxed, filled and then Kadee 805 couplers were bolted on at the correct height, the trucks were disassembled and the sideframes were milled to move them in closer to the wheels to give it a narrower look, it allows the brakeshoes to be on the wheels and not floating in mid air, visually the difference is amazing, the wheels were checked with a NMRA standards gauge to be correct or adjusted, and then it was reassembled. Comes with a 2 person crew as well as a full interior. Pictures do not do this loco justice, it is a must see in person! The detail and sound on these Masterline Locomotives is incredible. This is a SOUND Locomotive that runs on DC and DCC, it will operate with any standard DC power pack as well as any DCC system. This is a brand new locomotive that was taken out of the box and completely hand weathered to create a very realistic looking locomotive that seems like it has seen many years of use on the railroad. The weathering is a combination of various techniques of airbrushing, artists colours, acrylics, chalks, and has many layers of colour to give it more depth. It was Dullcoated so as not to ruin it's finish when handling and so as not to leave anything on your hands. Every car and locomotive is tested before being shipped to be in correct operating order. Each car/locomotive has an engraved plate with a serial number that is individual to itself and will not be duplicated. It will be great as a display unit or on a layout. It will be wrapped and kept in it's original box and boxed for delivery to the new owner with insurance. *Custom work and painting is also being done, so if you have a favourite car or locomotive that you want weathered, please send me an email.* **Bridge, people, extra cars & accy's not included** Don't miss out!!
