ATSF Railroad China CALIFORNIA POPPY ~Teapot~ Tea POT Up for auction is a extremely Rare 3 cup teapot / coffee pot in the "California Poppy" pattern made for Fred Harvey for use on the ATSF Santa Fe Railroad dining cars & FH Eating establishments. This is one of the rarest pieces in the poppy pattern. This is NOT the thinware version of the Poppy pattern made for sale to the public, rather it is the heavy-weight railroad/restaurant ware/steamship china which was an exclusive use pattern for Fred Harvey/ATSF RR. Measurements are 4 1/8" tall, 7 3/8" handle to spout. Teapot is in excellent condition. No chips or cracks & looks nearly unused. Clear and crisp decals. One small underglaze green smudge/ dot just under the upper rim (see pics). Super-shiny glaze! Marked on the back with the Syracuse China mark in green & date coded 99-b (Febuary 1970).
