ATSF Santa Fe Railway Ancient MIMBRENO Pattern Pedestal SHERBET//Shrimp Cocktail Dish appears to be in good condition with the exception of the two pinpoint indentations on side of dish as are shown in picture #5. Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad pattern paid tribute to the traditional Native American art of the Mimbres tribe who lived in Southeastern Arizona and Southwestern New Mexico during the Pueblo III period (1100-1200 A.D.). Mimbreno pattern was designed by Miss M.E.IL. Coulter and features stylized animals and borders in brick red and blackish-brown. Coulter tried to keep the decorations close to the primitive style of the Native Americans. The ivory body was prevalent from 1937-1959, while the white body was 1959-1971. The Mimbreno pattern footed dish w/ Thunderbird design dish was utilized in the railroad dining car. There is no backstamp available due to the indented pedestal. Perfect collectible!
