Of all the Atterbury tableware pieces I've owned, this is my favorite given its supurb lines and great color. Unfortunately, many years ago it had a close encounter with a cat which rendered if far less than perfect. A cat landing on a compote can leave a lasting impression - in this case some damage to the lacy edge. As to whether the stress crack on the bottom is cat related or predates that event I frankly can't remember. I must admit that I did a rather good job of repairing the cat-inflicted damage, and the color match is quite good. However, it is damage and it should be carefully noted. Nonetheless, this is an extremely hard to find example of the wonderful old milk glass tableware produced by Atterbury. Compote measures almost 9" tall, with a bowl diameter of 8". It is the delightful blue that makes the mouths of us "old glass" collectors water. Low starting bid amount reflects damage. I have cherished this piece for more than 25 years but it's time to let someone else have the pleasure. Shipping cost reflects the size and really good packing.
