In many other lamps of this style the brass connector is secured at the font and the stem with plaster or cement. This lamp is united in a manner patented by Atterbury and Company in 1868 and later used by a number of lamp manufacturers. In this form the brass connector is threaded at both ends. Both the font and the stem/base are threaded as well. There are no marks so I don't know the age or manufacture of this lamp. This particular feature would encourage a mixture of font and base styles, but on this lamp the pattern on the font and the base are the same. The font is clear and the base is amber and both have what appears to be a thumbprint style pattern. It is a small lamp, 9 1/8" tall from top of the collar to the base. It requires a #2 burner. The lamp is in excellent condition. Thanks for looking!
