FINE and Attractive Old Antique Indian Katar Dagger / sword tulwar shamshir Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album AlbumHere is a lovely old 19th century Indian katar dagger mostly likely for ceremonial or dress use, and not combat. As a result it is very highly decorated, with less emphasis on the blade. The piece is 14in. overall, with an 8in. blade. The hilt is gilded brass with detailed floral motifs to each side and a carved polished bone handle held in place by to large bulbous rivet covers. The same holds the blade's tang in place at the bottom of the hilt. The blade is quite plain and is diamond sectioned. The scabbard is wood with heavy gilded brass mounts in en suite floral motifs, with two baldric rings attached. A good deal of the gilding remains throughout. The center panels of the scabbard were covered in plush velvet that with age has worn down to the fabric's base, with only traces remaining.A very attractive "eye catcher" that shows its age but remains in nice condition!There is a $15.00 shipping and insurance fee on this item in the US, more elsewhere.NO SHIPPING TO CHINA OR RUSSIA.THANKS for having a look at this item!
