An attractive working pocket compass set in a brass case, pocket watch style. The compass is stamped Ross, London on the case but is a reproduction item made in antique style and aged. The direction indicators seem to be engraved and the front is opened by pushing the button on the top. It is in good condition with the applied patina and is an attractive piece. Makes a nice addition to a display of scientific or desk items, or could be put to use. The compass measures 2.6 inches (6.6 cm) in height, including the hanging loop, when the case is closed. This would be ideal as part of a victorian or steampunk style outfit.
