Offering a lamp sculpture signed by Auguste Moreau (French, 1834 to 1917), Art Nouveau newel post figural lamp of a young woman with flowers from early 20th century. The actual probably wood base of the lamp is missing. I have the screw rod that would secure the sculpture to the base and it is certainly included. Without the screw rod the sculpture sits flat on a surface. The lamp works could be removed to make it simply a decorative statue. This is a classic, timeless Art Noveau style. With age we expect some loss. The dress has only the slightest of loss at the hem. The base has the most surface loss. The crook of the left arm (holding basket) has loss that can be seen in the last 2 pics. The is a small puncture of sorts in the top back middle of the base.... not sure what it is from .. maybe an overzealous cleaning attempt….slight color lose on some hair spots. In the pic it kind of looks like the left arm was broken and re-attached… not the case... it is simply the long hair draping over the shoulder. The paint is mostly off the lamp wire pole part.. There is also an open stem that can be seen from the back of the lamp… not sure what if anything is missing from there… some of these lamps has multiple sockets.. and maybe this was one… overall there are surface paint loss chips here and there… they can be seen in pics… please
