This is an original condition unrestored Austin J40. Very rare to find one not painted within an inch of it's life and still useable. I bought this for my lads to enjoy and indeed they have, both now too big for it. I do not believe in restoring these things if they can be used as they are. The beauty of this is you could buy it and let your children or grand children enjoy it without worrying about it getting scratched. Not many if any of the restroed ones are enjoyed by children anymore so this is a rare oppourtunity. There is a dent in the back end you can see in the pictures also many scratches, it isn't new! Someone has cut holes in the nearside panel adjacent to the seat I presume to fit clocks, clearly visible in the pictures. The pedal gear is present except for the adjustable position bolts to allow for smaller children. All they were is a coach bolt with a length of rubber over as a grip, it can be driven now by bigger children, the bolts only provide about 3" reduction in pedalling length. There is no horn swith which was just a spring loaded switch in this case. It probably should be in the centre of the steering wheel (two pink wires can be seen where the switch used to be in the dashboard. The tyres are original Dunlop Balloon from new.
