What you are bidding on: This is a handcarved Aboriginal piece I purchased while on a business trip to Australia in 1997. It has the artist, homeland, description, catalogue number and original price which was A$260.00. The carving is of the Mokeny(sp?) Spirit and the artist is Mutilyen. It was purchased in one of the shops in Sidney that represents and supports Aboriginal artists. It is about 37" tall and is 5" in diameter at the base. It weighs slightly over 4 pounds. It is done in the traditional earth colors common to real aboriginal art. I have attached pictures that should allow you to judge the detail, quality and authenticity of the piece. My wife and I are downsizing to a smaller home so need to reduce the number of pieces we have collected. This is an authenic piece and should interest those that know and understand the value.
