PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE ITEM DESCRIPTION TO AVOID ANY CONFUSION ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE BIDDING ON! Up for auction is 5 pounds of on paper Australian stamps. This 5 pound listing starts at $29.95 AND I PAY THE SHIPPING!! This material was recently acquired from a friend in Australia. While I love going through and looking at the Australian stamps I only collect USA stamps so here is your chance to get a nice mix cheap. There appears to be a good variety of material in this lot including recent $0.60 stamps but I am unfamiliar with Australian stamps so please look at the images to determine what this lot is worth to you. These are mostly recent Australia issues with some New Zealand and off paper material here and there as well as a few stamps from other countries. As with any large lot of this type expect to find heavy duplication and some damage. Images are a small sample the actual stamps you are bidding on. I dumped a sample of the 5 pounds on my table and turned everything on top over to provide you with an idea of what is here. SURE TO BE SOMETHING IN HERE FOR EVERYONE. Get your bid in early! Mixture is a general word. Unless it is further described, assume it will include heavy duplication (multiple copies of the same stamp). An on-paper mixture contains clippings from envelopes and packages with the stamps still attached to paper from the envelopes. You have to soak the stamps to remove the backing paper. Kilo ware refers to stamps sold by weight. A kilogram is about 2.33 pounds. Some U.S. dealers sell kilo ware by the pound or fraction thereof. The term mission mixture originally meant on-paper stamps collected by churches or other charitable organizations and sold in great bulk to dealers to raise money for the charity. Such mixtures usually are heavy on definitive (regular-issue) stamps. Today, any on-paper mixture with heavy duplication and a preponderance of definitive stamps is often referred to as a mission mixture, regardless of the method or source of collection. "Unsorted" means that the mixture is sold just as it was received from the source. The high values, commemoratives or other more desirable stamps have not been reaped from the mixture. It also means that obviously damaged stamps have not been culled out...
