Hi Folks! I'm officially back from my summer of collecting vintage goodies for my ebay auctions. I have scoured many a field and have come up with bundles of treasure . . . this selling season promises to satisfy your appetite for high quality antiques & collectibles. Keep an eye out, every week, for a piece of the action. Franny You are viewing an exquisite antique figural servant. This little gem is done in a cold painted bronze. This Nubian boy is clad in period costume sporting a turban and scarf like garments. This black memorabilia collectible dates back to the 1940's. The artist has taken his cue from the early masterpieces made by Franz Bergman (A.K.A. Namgreb). I do not know the maker, however, as this piece is not marked or signed. This decorative arts sculpture sports a nouveau inspired candle holder depicting a stylized acanthus leaf . . . superb. This Austrian torch bearer is cast in spectacular detail giving way to a textured complexion that yields a satisfying touch. Additionally, the figure has a significant weight and a refreshingly cold feel in the hand . . . fabulous.
