M.1842 Socket Bayonet for the Laukart fixation spring catch. Fits the Austrian rifle M.1842, system Augustin. There is a small “GM” stamped on the right side of the elbow and an A stamp. Lovely light brown patina overall .These rifles and bayonets were imported during the U.S. Civil War by both sides.
