You are viewing a Guaranteed Authentic Indian Artifact. This piece of pottery is from a collection of Mississippian vessels. But of note, this piece is void of shell temper, exhibits a small 1-1/2" flat base, and flaring body style. I suspect this crude bowl to be a very early Mississippian or late woodland piece. I see a single fleck of shell, this represents an inclusion present in the clay, and not an intentional additive. This great clay relic was recovered in four pieces, nicely restored, with the cracks not cosmetically altered. Measuring 2-1/4" high, and 4" across, Illinois? Indiana?-- Guaranteed to Authenticate by any major authenticator in the business.
