Description: Very rare and authentic Chinese KangXi mark and period (1661 - 1722AD) antique blue and white porcelain bowl with design of landscapes. Great offer with no reserve. Size: Diameter of 8.4 inches (21.3 cm) and height of 4 inches (10 cm) Conditions: Good. Shipping: $39 to Europe. $36 to North America and Oceania (Canada, USA, New Zealand and Australia). $29 to Asia. $23 to Hong Kong and Macao. $8 within China mainland. About Blue and White Decoration Porcelain Ceramists paint designs on white porcelain bodies with writing brushes with a pigment that has cobalt as its coloring material, and then applly transparent glaze to the bodies, and eventually fire them at high temperatures. Blue and white decoration comes into being. In fact, the technique of making this decoration is one of the underglaze decorations. The earliest blue and white porcelain decoration found in China was unearthed in Tangcheng of Yangzhou City. The technique originated from Tang Dynasty. Blue and white porcelain of Ming Dynasty is very rare, though technically it cannot compete with Qing Dynasty porcelain. The peak of blue and white porcelain is Qing Dyn.
