You are bidding on the authentic 19th century Vienna Beidermeier fall front Secretary/ Secretaires /desk in the photo's
This exquisite piece of empire style furniture has a wonderful history. Purchased by a published writer in the 1940's in Vienna during her travels abroad. Dimensions: 57" H 39.5" W 19" D Made of South East Asian Satin wood and maple with fitted intricate ebonized aqueduct/ bridge/ window arch details inside the desk. Aged original brass drawer pulls, key plates w/ original working key and corner decor. Original wooden interior drawer knobs. (2 missing) Structurally this piece is solid, tight and very heavy and in good condition considering it's age.The bottom in concaved. Beautiful patina, veneer and molding need some TLC as seen in photo's but generally in good condition.Some pieces are accounted for. I am assuming that it was made in the early 1820's in Vienna. I have a copy of the estate appraisal of this item by a Briggs auction inc. a reputable dealer/appraiser that will be available upon purchase. Shipping will be set up by the purchaser.I have references and phone numbers of local freight companies. Pick up is encouraged. If the item is being shipped : the remainder will be mailed to me by money order/personal check/ bank check with in 7 days of the invoice. As soon as payment clears, I will start the shipping or pick up process. If the item is a pick up :CASH, bank check or postal money order will only be accepted.
