Up for auction is a GUARANTEED AUTHENTIC antique blue DELFTWARE CHARGER that would look perfect in your home to hang on the wall! This is a very old piece, from the early 1800s, and is in excellent condition. (SEE DETAILED PICS Below!!) This is handpainted as the details will show, and includes the signature on the reverse. The blue pheasant pattern and antique scrolling decorative border compliment virtually any style. A hand-painted Delftware charger of this age and condition is HIGHLY collectible and sought after. At one time, this plate was most likely hung on a wall--this was done to avoid taxation, as decoration and serving plates had different taxation laws, so plates like these were made easily interchangable between serving plates and decor. Evidence of the hanging can be seen on the reverse w the two holes are cut. Personally signed by the artist on the reverse. Beautiful indigo blue color that is often replicated, but the real antiques contain the true desirable indigo seen Give your home the tasteful attention it deserves! This piece is in EXCELLENT condition for the era it was created. T is some wear around the edge of the plate, and some on the back. The backside of the plate has a light-gray toned glaze.
