Authentic German porcelain regimental stein. Almost 13 inches tall. Originally belonged to Reservist Gafsner. He served in the 1st Nassau Infantry Regiment No.87 at Mainz from 1911 to 1913. Stein has four side scenes. Stein is goldish in color with gold dots and red stripes. On the top of the stein it reads "He who has faithfully served his time, deserves a full beer stein." Details of the stein are all hand - enameled. Thumblift is a crowned rampart lion. Finial is a soldier with a rifle and a lion by his side.Handle has the face of a soldier on it. Stein is in excellent condition. Porcelain has no chips, cracks repairs etc. Colors and scenes are bright and bold. Lid appears to have a little roughness inside near the tang, possible small thin pewter cut; otherwise lid in excellent condition. I'm downsizing my collection.
