Over the years, some Atlantic City casinos have come and gone - with their antiquated gaming chips now sought-after by collectors. The chips that compose this beautifully framed set are from the 11 Atlantic City casinos currently in operation today - Hilton, Tropicana, Trump Plaza, Caesars, Bally's, Resorts, Trump Taj Mahal, Showboat, Trump Marina, Harrah's, and Borgata. The set contains one chip from each casino and each chip is One Dollar ($1.00) in denomination.The chips are set into a plush, dark green, felt background - reminiscent of a casino's gaming table layout. These chips ARE NOT simply glued onto the background. Instead, they are actually EMBEDDED into the felt - so that the surface of each chip sits flush with the surface of the felt, further enhancing the plush look and rich quality of the piece. The reverse side of each chip is clearly visible when the back panel of the frame is opened. This allows one to view of the "backs" of the chips, without the need of removing them from their settings - thus, maintaining the alignment of the chips and the integrity of the piece.The entire set is mounted behind an 11" x 14" clear glass panel (gorgeously matted to 8½" x 11"). The frame is satin-finished in a rich mahogany tone, that gradiates into a black tone near its inner and outer edges. The inner border of the frame is further accented with beads of gold-tone leaf. The entire display oozes a look of elegance.We have listed this piece as "new" because the frame, background, and mounted display are, in fact, "new". However, the chips in this set are authentic and were actually "used" during casino play. They have been meticulously cleaned to restore their splendid color and beauty. However, because they are authentic, some chips may show minor degrees of use or normal wear.
