What a really cool find. Authentic art deco lamp with three naked dancing ladies. It is by G Thew and titled "Rockettes" The lamp was found in my Aunt's attic. She does not even remember it. I would have to guess that my Uncle purchased it and hid it in the attic while he tried to think of a way to convince her to let him put it in the house. (It is kinda sexy for the time). The lamp is signed "G Thew" on the bottom with the date "1929". You can see another of the same lamp on the Antiques & Fine Art ( AFA ) web page. It is in John Axelrod's collection under the cover story "Art Decodence". The measurements are as follows: 13" from base to top of lady's hand. 5 3/4" from lady's back to her fingertips 18" From base to top w lightbulb would be base is 6" across (all measurements are to the closest number) Now for the bad news. The middle lady has had a repair to her hand. She happens to be the one whose hand becomes the lamp stem. Please see photo for best description. You will probably want to take it to a conservator to have it repaired properly. It is very dirty and needs to be cleaned but I don't dare attempt this for fear of ruining the patina. The piece weighs 10lbs. So figure 15lbs with ample shipping and sturdy box. The cord is t but will need to be replaced for safety reasons. Thanks for looking .... good luck.... and please contact me with any questions you may have. Due to my banks new rules I cannot take any money orders other than Postal Money Orders available at your local post office. I still accept PayPal. Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.
