Own a Piece of Rock and Roll History

Own an authentic door from Jim Morrison's childhood home ! Jim Morrison, frontman for The Doors - one of the most revered rock groups of all time - lived with his grandparents, Paul and Caroline Morrison, at 314 N. Osceola Avenue in Clearwater, Florida. He resided t for three years as a baby (1944-1947) and again later (1961-1963) while attending St. Petersburg Junior College. In fact, this was his last residence before moving to Los Angeles, meeting the other members of the band and forming The Doors .

The house stood on the site of the Island View condominium project, currently under development. Carefully dismantling the home, Triangle Development preserved the doors and other artifacts to memorialize the late singer-songwriter while benefiting worthwhile charitable organizations.

Famous St. Petersburg artist, Judith Dazio , turned the master bedroom door into a beautiful mural entitled " When the Music's Over ".

Triangle Development has donated the door to the The Clearwater Jazz Holiday, the largest free jazz festival in the United States outside of New Orleans, which is auction ing off the " When the Music's Over " door on eBay. Own a piece of Rock N Roll history and your purchase will help to support the arts in Clearwater .

The door is mounted in a painted frame and will open and close with handle. A door bell has been installed which play s three short clips from " When the Music's Over ", a different one will play each time you press it. The actual door measures 8 4" in height and 32 " in width. With frame, 94.5 " in height and 43.75 " in width. The base measures ap proximately 43.75 " square x4. 5" h. The complete art piece weighs approximately 200 pounds. Please use these dimensions when calculating freight (to be determined after auction ends).

With every door or other artifact sold in this series, you will receive a commemorative book. This book include s a notarized certificate of authenticity as well as photos of each artifact in the collection and their former location in the Morrison home.
