This auction is for a pristine authentic Fenton Handmade Glass Vase. This vase is a limited edition Collection II number 88 of 600 and is a work of art designed by Robert Barber. This vase is certified by the Fenton Art Glass Company and the stamped certificate is included with the vase. David L. Fetty is the signed craftsman. This original certificate is dated 9/19/75. If you could find this vase to purchase it, the retail would be atleast $250.00. The vase is 9 1/4 inches tall. I couldnt get a good picture of the engraved numbers and initials on this vase due to its color, but it can be seen easily when you look at it.This is your chance to own this beautiful and rare piece. This is the information included on the left side of the certificate. Designed by Robert Barber, glass artist in residence at Fenton, this vase is one of six pieses in collection II of the "Robert Barber Collection" by Fenton. It has been made by the offhand method with the colors and design being inlaid with molten glass into the body of the piece by the craftsman. Mr. Barber is partisipating in the development of some outstanding glass craftsman at Fenton and at the same time is developing these beautiful glass pieces which are now being made in very limited number. This piece is permanetly numbered with the same number that appears on the certificate, is dated, carries the Fenton trademark and the initials of the craftsman who made it. Robert Barber's works have won a number of Jury and Purchase awards at museums and competitions in the Unitied States including: Jury awards: 1st and 2nd Toledo Glass Nationals, 4th, 5th, and 6th Southern Tier Nationals, Corning,Ny, Pittsburg Plate Glass Foundation Award, Designer/Craftsman '72 Purchase awards: Brooks Memorial Art Museum, Memphis, Tennessee, Lincoln War Memorial Museum, Lincoln, Nebraska, from Toledo Glass National, Beaux Arts, Columbus, Ohio, Museum Purchace Award.
