AuthenticGalle Signed Cameo Glass Vase French Art Nouveau Circa1900This is not a reproduction. This Galle vase is guaranteed to be circa 1890-1904 Made in the studio of the 20the century cameo glass masterEmile Galle of Nancy France. In perfect condition with no chips or cracks. A rather unusual shape. In the past 25 years of collecting Iâe(tm)ve owned well over 100 Galle vases and Iâe(tm)ve only seen this shape 3 times. On two of those occasions I was able to purchase them. The two were very similar yet with many differences. Made years apart from each other, one was a star signature and one was earlier without a star. This is the earlier vase without a star signature dating it prior to 1904. After his death in 1904 his widow continued glass production at the studio and placed a star next to the signature in memory of her husband. One of the nice aspects of this shape is that it will fit nicely into the corner of a vitrine or cabinet or looks great in the middle of a table. It made with the acid cut back, cameo technique w multi-colored glass is hand blown into the desired shape and then wax is placed over parts of the vase and acid is used to cut back areas into the design. This process is repeated several times and then hand finished used various techniques including polishing, and sand blasting. I purchased this vase in the early 1980âe(tm)s it has been in my personal collection since. It has been displayed in exhibitions at the Emerald Dragonfly Gallery in San Francisco and pictured in a magazine article about the life and work of Emile Galle. This is a four-color vase. White, yellow, green and apricot colored glass over a clear frosted glass were used in its making. It is approximately 10 3/8âe (26.5cm) tall and 4 ½âe (11.5 cm) wide. Weighs approximately 3 lbs 12 oz (1.16 kg)In perfect condition. Thats just glue traces of a sticker in the photo of polished pontil. Please email me if you desire additional photos. To ensure its safe and insured arrival to the winning bidder it will be sent via registered mail, this is the shipping method used by jewelers to sent valuable gems and jewelry. The post office keeps it away from regular mail and under lock and key until delivered..
