Beautiful Hand Carved Tortoise Gemstone Red Granite Shona Tribal Village Zimbabwe Africa I attend the international Gem & Mineral show each year in Tuscon Arizona in the late winter. While there I look for choice mineral and fossil specimens to sell. I found a dealer who was from Zimbabwe Africa. He told me that the carvings he had were all hand made and took many, many hours of hard work to carve. They were from the Shona Tribal Village. He had exquisite carvings. He had perhaps a few hundred specimens and all were choice premium carvings. From these thousands I selected the very best and here it is. This is pure natural Gemstone Grade Red Granite hand carved from the African nation of Zimbabwe. The weight is superb. The detail wonderful. The color is A+ and the detail is among the finest available. Great care is taken to select the stone as it is hand mined with shovel and pick in the hot sun. Then the pieces of stone are washed and selected for color, pattern and density. They are then checked for cracks and fractures. Once selected the carvers use hand tools to carve away the material and shape the piece into a choice piece that flows with the grain color and pattern. It is then hand polished to a brilliant finish. Picture holding this beauty in your own hands. This is a wonderful carving and would look exquisite anywhere.
