We are pleased to offer this Authentic Handel Ware Humidor. Pieces such as this were made between 1902-1905. Described in the "Handel Lamps Painted Shades & Glassware" book as follows: "Squat Humidor in opal glass, realistically painted on the exterior on a shaded green and russet ground, the knopped, hinged cover with a plain bronzed metal mount and frontal thumbpiece". The scene is of an open fireplace with a cooking pot and a piece of meat hanging in the opening while a cat watches. Very neat design. This Handel Humidor has the Design Number "#4091/F", the mark is the stamped HANDEL WARE shield. Measures 5 1/2" to top and is 5" wide. Terrific hand decorated piece of Handel Ware. Condition is good with no chips, no cracks, has a few normal wear scratches to the paint. The rim, which has been polished at some time, is more copper and brass than bronze color.
