AUTHENTIC LARGE GRADE 10 PALEO CLOVIS GAINEY POINT ARROWHEAD WITH 3 COAS - OHIOINCLUDES THREE C.O.A.S!INVESTMENT GRADE 10!THERE IS A HIGHLY DESIRABLE AND RARE GAINEY TYPE CLOVIS!TYPE: Clovis "Gainey type"SIZE : 4-1/16" X 1"AGE: Paleo (11,500-9,500 B.P.)MATERIAL: Flint Ridge FlintFIND LOCATION: Licking County, OhioGRADE: Grade 10 - InvestmentC.O.A.S: Howard *1, Butler *2 and Royster *3PRICE GUIDE : $12,000.00 -$20,000.00, Overstreet Twelfth Edition, Page 371. The closest price match I could find is a Ross County style which is much more common than this ultra rare Gainey Type.NOTES: Simply Awesome and an ultra rare variant! I priced this outstanding point far below what I think it would realize at a show. Remember that this is an authentic Gainey Type Clovis with very strong paperwork when judging prices. It was anciently crafted from highly desirable Flint Ridge flint and is very thin. This was formally from the Jack Litchfield collection. Genuine points of this caliber are usually reserved for reputable auction houses or are transacted in private and are rarely run in this forum. Investment grade points hold or increase in value, even in a bad economy unlike comic books and plastic toys that sometimes sell in the six figure range!Notes: *1 Calvin Howard was the most experienced authenticator in the business until he passed away
