Authentic Original Inuit Dog Sled Whip This whip is an Inuit Indian Artifact from Greenland back in the early 50's. The whip is made from rawhide and some kind of driftwood. I am unable to measure the length of the whip as it is not advisable to try to uncoil it from its current shape without a thorough soaking. The hide is not cracked anyw it is only stiff. It has a tip of cotton cord that has been stiffened and separated into three ends at its tip. The base is an interesting type of braid that is attached to the driftwood with small nails and moused down to the tip end of the wood with black fishing line, thus securing it permanently t The whip is not dirty or stained even. The only irregularity is that the wood is split slightly at the butt end of the handle. It does not appear to have diminished the effectiveness of the item at all. T is a small apparent dribble of green paint on the handle butt. This is a really nice piece of inuit history!
