Greetings from 21st Century Treasures! For your consideration:AN AUTHENTIC PAIR of PRE-COLUMBIAN ARTIFACTS ANCIENT MAYANS AZTECS MEXICO TERRACOTTA FIGURAL FRAGMENTSwhich can be used asEYE CATCHING CANDLE HOLDERS!Two great unique pieces in the form of upright cylinders with bases which make unique and eye catching candle holders. Both pieces seem to be fragments of larger pieces. The one with the larger "base" looks to be a fragment from a largely decorated jug or vessel. It is complete with ornate decoration and detail. The other base looks to be in the form of a snake or perhaps frog head? It also shows black charring around the top cylinder and has remnants of stale, old wax in the interior base as well as splattered in areas around the exterior. It seems that this piece has already been used as a candle holder sometime long, long ago! Both pieces have a hollowed out center area ear the base which act as finger holds when carrying. Each cylinder holds a regular 1" diameter candle. The piece with the larger base as the slightest of wobble to it if not positioned right so I recommend twisting the candles into the fragments. Have fun with them; experiment with candle sizes; make them your own!Pre-Columbian, believed to be Mayan; possibly Aztec, Terracotta Figural Fragments. Mexico/Central America.
