This auction is for an AUTHENTIC WW2 GERMAN SG 84/98 III BAYONET S 244 w SCABBARD. This comes from a collection owned by an avid history buff who has studied not only WW2, but also the Revolutionary War and the Civil War for many years and has gatd an impressive collection of WW2 items. The blade is approx. 9 5/8" long - overall length is approx. 15". Blade is marked clearly with S 244 (showing the maker as Mundlos) and the number 5942 with a small letter "n" and also "36" which indicates that it was made in 1936. Please see close up photos at the bottom of the listing. The scabbard or sheath that is with it, is not from the same maker and the numbers do not match. While I am not personally qualified to grade these types of items, this piece really is in exceptional condition with little pitting, or nicks in the blade. Additional photos available upon request.
