We recently bought out the estate of a long time baseball collector. Among the many items we found were a team signed New York Giants ball with a Christy Mathewson autograph that we have submitted to PSA/DNA. We will be listing many of the great baseball treasures in the coming days. This auction is an incredible treasure from Hack Wilson's amazing Record Breaking 1930 Season! Wilson set the NL Home Run record with 56, which stood for 68 years until it was shattered in the Mcgwire/Sosa race of 1998. Hack Wilson set the all time RBI record for a single season in 1930 with 191 RBI's - a record like Di Maggio's 56 game hit streak, it will likely never be broken. The ball is an official National League Heydler ball that is game used. The ball is one of two home runs hit by Wilson on September 17, 1930. The Cubs won the game over the New York Giants 5-2. This ball was Hack's 52nd home run of the season, a fact that is noted on the baseball along with Hack Wilson's signature. This home run accounted for 2 of 4 RBI's for Hack that day #176 and #177 of his 191 RBI's. /feats/feats21.shtml This ball gets even better as it also has the following signatures of Hack's fellow 1930 teammates: Panel 1 KiKi Cuyler (HOF,d.1950- Rare signature) , Pat Malone, Guy Bush, Hack Wilson, 52nd Home Run Notation Panel 2 Charles Grimn, George Kelly read more
