In 2003, Epiphone joined with Lynyrd Skynyrd in celebrating the legendary band's 30th anniversary by creating a Limited Edition commemorative Les Paul guitar as part of a dream package for Skynyrd fans. The package included the guitar, two front row seats to a Skynyrd concert, a tour program and the opportunity to meet band members. I was lucky enough to obtain one of these packages. However, I was not able to actually see the band and reap the benefits of the package until June 03 of 2004. The original 2003 date had to be postponed due to a hurricane damaging the roof of the NTelos Pavillion in Portsmouth, Va. The guitar, officially named the Epiphone 30th Anniversary "Lynyrd Skynyrd" Les Paul Standard Gold Top, features a gold top finish and "Lynyrd Skynyrd" inlaid on the fingerboard. The "Lynyrd Skynyrd 30 Years" anniversary logo is featured prominently on the back of the guitar and is also stamped on the gig bag. The guitar is in MINT CONDITION and has never been played. The guitar was autographed in front of me by each member of the 2004 lineup.
