4 x 5.5" silver print at Kitty Hawk autographed by Orville Wright. A typed label on the back of the frame reads: "This print was taken from a negative made at Kitty Hawk December 17, 1903. Orville Wright is flying the plane, Wilbur is standing on the ground. The runway is at the left; at the right near Wilbur is a battery used to supplement the magneto on the plane in starting, and disconnected after starting. The negative from which this print is made is the only one in existence and is the only negative saved from the 1913 Dayton Flood. This print given to H.S. Harris by Orville Wright October 13, 1932 at his laboratory, 15 North Broadway, Dayton, Ohio." This photo of the famous 12 second flight takes on added significance as we approach the centennial of flight in 2003.Condition: Photo is framed under glass, a bit light, apparently as printed. No imperfections or damage is evident. Not removed from frame for examination.
