You are bidding on a very cool Automatic Electric Company Coin Operated Pay Telephone, all chrome. 's the deal. This phone came from an estate. It appears to have been converted for residential use. The coins are set to go into the coin bin. They ring a bell and fall in, but coins are not required for operation. The phone has dial tone and goes on and off hook. It could be used as an extension phone. I believe it even rang at one time as t is a ringer bell wired in. It may be mis-wired in at this point. I was never able to get it to dial out although the dial appears to work and I can hear it dial but it never goes off dial tone with the first digit. Some of you, can probably wire this thing up correctly, but I can't. Physically, the chrome is in good shape. The tiniest bit of chrome flaking appears on the left bottom edge of the upper section w it meets the lower section. You can't tell from the photos and it does not detract in real life. Overall, this is a nice piece cosmetically. T are no keys, but the top section is unlocked and access to the bottom can be had by taking the screws out of the back. I wish t was a top key as that is what's needed to really secure the top section to the bottom. Otherwise, its just a pressure fit. Note that this is a heavy puppy and will need to be double boxed. I can arrange for a local pickup in Stockton, Ca if you'd like to save on postage. I say this can be fixed up and actually used in your home. Very attractive.
