Up for auction is an AVENGERS #4 comic AUTOGRAPHED in pen on the first page by the artist & co-creator the late, great Jack Kirby (aka "The King of Comics"). This is the first Silver Age appearance of Captain America after being frozen in SUSPENDED ANIMATION at the end of WWII. This is an original, first printing Marvel comic from March 1964. I purchased this item from a professional comic dealer who stated he personally had this autographed by Jack Kirby. It has been bagged with an acid free backboard for the entire time I have owned this comic. I'm not a professional grader, but I believe this to be in F/VF condition (if not better) with bright, bold colors and Off-White pages. It has no rips, tears, missing advertisements or significant Marvel edge chipping. This is an original comic and has NEVER been restored in any manner. I do not have a COA for the Jack Kirby autograph and I'm selling it as is, but I feel confident that this is an original autograph as I bought this comic from an honest person that I did a lot of business with and he told me that he had this personally autographed. This item will be shipped very securely. Insurance is optional, however if the item is damaged or lost during shipment I will not be held responsible if it is uninsured. More info about Ja ck Kirby: He was the probably the most influential, respected illustrator and creator of comic books in the super-hero/adventure variety. He was so important that some say that when Jack Kirby died, he took the industry with him. His Silver Age artwork contains some of the most influential creations in the comic book world including the advent of the "Kirby Krackle". Among the characters that Jack either created or co-created were The Silver Surfer, The Fantastic Four, Galactus, The Mighty Thor, Spider-man, The X-Men, Captain America, The Avengers, The Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, Boy Commandos, Challengers of the Unknown, The New Gods, Kamandi, Darkseid, Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos, Captain Victory and many, many others.
