Well, I'm trying it again, this time with no reserve. Up for auction is an Avon Spring Water bottle from Avon, NY, by C.H. Nowlen. It's in great shape with no chips or cracks or fractures. It has some haze especially on the back side and a little bit of residue on the bottom inside. This bottle is extremely rare and It took me over 4 months of research to even find a reference to this bottle. This bottle was dug in upstate New York in October 2006. It was found at about 4 feet deep. It's quite crude with an uneven top and tooling (twist) marks on the neck, and some roughness on the glass inside the neck. The seam goes up to about the middle of the neck and then vanishes. It also has quite a few bubbles. This bottle is blown in mold with a hand finished (hand applied) top, and has a slight whittled detail to the glass. This bottle weighs a hefty 1 and 1/4 pounds and measures 8 and ½ inches tall. It's a darker aqua blue. A highly respected antique magazine cited this bottle dates from around 1875. I have set a reserve on this auction that is reasonable in respect to the value of this bottle. S&H will be $12.00 USPS Priority Mail. Insurance is never required but highly recommended for this auction. Rates will be determined based on the ending price. I will accept Certified Bank Checks, Money Orders for this auction. Personal Checks read more
