SELLING FROM THE UNITED KINGDOM - INTERNATIONAL BUYERS WELCOME. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC 1940's/1950's FIGURAL GUITAR SHAPED VINTAGE POWDER COMPACT WITH REAL STRINGS! - VERY RARE! What a fantastic vintage powder compact this is. It's a guitar in miniature with great attention to detail. It's made from brass with the body overlaid in tan and brown leather. T are replica tuning keys, brass frets on the brass fretboard, bridge-pins and real strings made from fine wire which go all the way up the fretboard and wind around the tuning keys just like a real guitar, which is quite amazing considering how small these keys are! The sound hole is not hollow but decorative made from dark brown leather. It's surprisingly easy to hold as the 'waist' of the guitar forms a gripping place, so it sits in the palm of the hand quite comfortably. The powder compact opens with a pull back clasp and is hinged at the top of the body behind the fretboard. The interior houses a guitar shaped bevelled mirror which is edged with cream braid. The powder well is edged in leather and holds a guitar shaped sifter. CONDITION It is showing general overall surface wear and has some markings to the base.
