From my personal vintage jewelry collection:This is a magnificent bracelet and earring set in a quite beautiful design that is signed by the very diverse and talented designer Hobe', who has fast become one of my very favorites. The color scheme is imaginative, as I've come to expect from this fine design house. I have seen these same stones used, in different colors, but, as usual, he gives it its own personality. It is just gorgeous, and perfect for any occasion, elegant or casual. The bracelet is fairly large and well-constructed, signed Hobe' on the back of the clasp, and on each earring's clipback. Each piece is made of large, emerald-cut rhinestones in shades of pale blue and purple, a favorite color combination of mine. 's an interesting fact: Under natural lighting, the earrings have purple and lavender stones, but under flourescent lighting (which was used in my pictures), these lavender stones appear pale blue. This is referred to as an "alexandrite effect", and was a technique used quite often in the vintage jewelry world. Now, why the bracelet's stones appear pale blue in either light, I don't know. Regardless, the pieces are a perfect match in every other way.The large stones are trimmed by tiny, sparkling clear baguettes and rounds. They are arranged in a deco design, one clear stone up and one down between each large stone. All of these stones were selected and positioned perfectly so as to catch and refract each others' colors and light. This is one of the many things that set Hobe' apart as a designer, and this attribute is masterfully executed in this classic set. All pieces are made of shiny gold-toned metalwork, bordered by a shiny golden rope braid. This sparkling bouquet of color and texture is set in a very beautiful and heavy well-made design on each of these beautiful pieces. All stones appear to be prong-set and faceted, with none missing.All stones appear bright and clear. Amazingly, t appears to be only minimal wear, if any, to the stones and to the metalwork, any of which would be understandable, given the estimated age of the set. All stones look wonderful. All the stones are in good, clear condition. T may be a bit of expected wear to the tiny clear stones, but, if so, it is certainly negligible.T is so much glitter and sparkle in this set, it simply looks marvelous for its estimated age!All pieces are of excellent quality and are very wearable for their weights & sizes, as I have come to expect from this marvelous designer. It was apparently very well-cared-for by its previous owner(s). Measuring approx. 7 inches long and 1 inch wide, the bracelet is quite stunning. T is a working safety chain, and the clasp is nice and tight. The glamorous clip earrings measure approx. 1 1/8 inches long by 5/8 inch wide, and are very beautiful also. They are the "climber" design that "climb" up the side of the wearer's outer ear, making for a most glamorous result.This is an unusual and beautiful Hobe' set that I hate parting with!
