AYNSLEY Cup & Saucer Made c. 1939+ Hello and welcome to our auction sale. For sale today we are offering this really nice vintage Aynsley tea cup and saucer. Terrific Display piece. This cup and saucer have no chips, no cracks and no crazing. T are some marks from use on the downside of the saucer.. The gilding and paint have slight wear. John Aynsley & Sons (Ltd .) 1860-present Portland Works, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. His grandfather, also called John Aynsley, came to the Potteries from Northumberland, and was in business as a maker of lustre ware , the first in Longton, in a factory on the site of Longton market. In 1861 John Aynsley built the Portland works in Sutherland Road, Longton.
