Bing & Grondahl Copenhagen Porcelain The Christmas Plate from Bing & Grondahl is the oldest annual collector's series in the world. The Christmas Plate or "Juleplatte" stems from an ancient Danish Tradition, transformed into fine porcelain by Harald Bing in 1895. It was the thought of immortalizing this "gesture of thanks" in fine porcelain that has given the world a beautiful symbol of Christmas Spirit as well as the wonderful hobby of plate collecting, enjoyed by millions today. This plate is dated 1911. The Motif of this plate is "First It Was Sung by the Angels to the Shepherds in the Field ". Designed by H. Moltke .It is 7 1/8" in diameter and in mint condition. No box.
