Greetings,I had to take some time away from Ebay during the holiday season to keep up with the influx of custom orders. I am now caught up and am ready to start putting the occasional blade up for auction again. The survival/tactical knife you are currently viewing has an overall length of 12.5" with a 7" O-1 tool steel blade. The blade was flat ground from 1/4" thick barstock and heat treated to 60-62 Rockwell C hardness. O-1 tool steel is a high performance carbon steel with nearly double the impact resistance of 440C stainless. Higher impact resistance allows me to heat treat the blade to very high hardness levels (higher hardness = better edge retention) without worrying about the blade shattering under heavy use. The blade has been marquenched and double tempered to ensure maximum performance. The handle was crafted from abrasive blasted, black linen micarta with white vulcanized fiber spacers. Abrasive blasted micarta offers a superb grip that works even in wet conditions. The handle scales are secured to the tang with stainless steel bolts coated black to match the blade. This method of attachment uses no adhesives and makes the handle impervious to both temperature and physical shock. The blade has been coated with a high performance bake-on epoxy coating.
