Quartz (Lab Grown) - Location: Russia, near Moscow. Small Cabinet. This particular quartz crystal is most unusual in that it was grown in a laboratory. It is not merely a "synthetic" quartz crystal, but rather a crystal of quartz grown in a lab using "natural" quartz as the source material. In the growing process, the natural quartz was "dissolved" and "redeposited" on a quartz crystal seed. The crystals are definitely of top "gem" quality and one could cut some dandy gemstones, however, I am a purist when it comes to crystals and I like them just the way they are as beautiful crystals. The surfaces of the crystal that have tiny "bumps" are "C" faces; the "C" face is extremely rare in nature.
