Up for bid is a Baltimore and Ohio Railroad stepstool as used by a passenger car conductor. The stool is constructed of steel, with the original rubber feet attached. The size of the step top is roughly 16" x 14", the base is 20" x 18", and the height is 10 1/2". The "B&O" letters are over 3 ½" high, and are raised or embossed in the metal. The opposite end of the stool has an oval opening, and the sides have round openings. See photos.Overall condition is very good, with one leg having a very slight "kink" (so slight that you have to look for it to see it), and the feet having minor cracking of the rubber. These defects are only mentioned for the sake of accuracy, the appearance is just as you would want for a vintage artifact that was used on the railroad. Railroad marked stepstools are desirable collectibles, and they are getting harder to find as time goes by. Thanks for your interest, and good luck bidding. U.S. bidders only please. Due to size, shipping charges will be $25 (UPS).
