Nice 1930-40's era Babe Ruth signature 34" wood bat. The story behind the bat is that it was obtained by a longtime Denver equipment manager after working the barnstorming tour Ruth/Gehrig game played at the old Merchants Park in Denver. The bat was supposedly used during the game by both Ruth and Gehrig due to a shortage of bats they had at the time. Since the bat doesn't conform to the usual specifications of other game used Ruth bats and the equipment manager passed away years ago, I can only speculate as to the validity of the story but I obtained the bat from a close acquaintence of the equipment manager and he had kept the bat until his death as his prized possession. The bat shows excellent wear and t is an "A" carved into the end, the knob has no markings. The bat shows heavy use.
